Santa Ana is the 9th canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 61.42 km²,[ and has a population of 48,879. A suburb of the capital city San Jose, Santa Ana is nestled in the foothills between Puriscal and Escazu within an hour drive from the beach.
