Santa Ana, Costa Rica

Santa Ana is the 9th canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 61.42 km²,^[ and has a population of 48,879. A suburb of the capital city San Jose, Santa Ana is nestled in the foothills between Puriscal and Escazu within an hour drive from the beach.

This charming little town is a balance of traditional Costa Rican culture and modern amenities.  “Valley of the sun” offers professional golf courses, many restaurants, movie theaters, bars, modern hospitals such as newly built Clinica Biblica, or Cima Hospital few minutes away, in Escazu.

 

For food lovers there’s plenty of restaurants to choose from, just go to Santa Ana Town Center or Container Platz  and you’ll have many options under one roof, as well as entertainment such as  live music shows.

For active individuals there’s much to do in Santa Ana: hiking, CrossFit, Gyms, soccer fields, swimming pool and more. One of the biggest malls Multiplaza is also located just minutes away and lets not forget about newest project Santa Ana Country Club – a social club that awaits for you right next to famous Villa real residential. It is available to members who buy “accion”, a share so they can enjoy access to this prestigious club. They offer sports, dining, recreation and more.

The dry season lasts from mid-December to late March/early April, and the rainy season lasts from late April/early May to December. Temperatures in Santa Ana average between 70 and 80 degrees during the day and the mid to high 60s at night. Even in the rainy season, the mornings are usually clear with the majority of rainfall occurring in the afternoon hours.
